SUMMARY

 

The firm is seeking a Data Analyst to joint the Strategy and Quantitative Analytics team. The Data Anlayst will be involved in a wide variety of areas within the Strategy and Quantitative Analytics team, with a particular focus on the development and operation of Burford Capital's Proprietary investment Modeling platform.

 

The role will report to a Senior Vice President and be based in Burford's London Office.

Position Description

 

Responsibilities

 

The Strategy and Quantitative Analytics team at Burford Capital is seeking a Data Analyst to support the operation and development of Burford’s proprietary investment modeling software. This role will sit at the intersection of quantitative finance, business analysis, and software development, helping convert investment and modeling needs into clear specifications, testing materials, and implementation guidance.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Supporting the development and refinement of Burford’s proprietary investment modeling platform.
  • Working with the business-facing team to understand model logic, analytical objectives, and enhancement priorities.
  • Drafting functional and technical specifications for new features, platform improvements, and analytical tools.
  • Preparing test packets and validation materials to confirm that functionality performs as intended.
  • Coordinating with Project Management, Business Architecture, and Technology teams to support effective delivery of software changes.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the modeling systems and communicating recommendations to the wider Strategy and Quantitative Analytics team.
  • Maintaining documentation of requirements, testing outcomes, platform functionality, and related development decisions.
